Joel is a native of Louisiana, where Hebert, pronounced "A-bear," is a common French name. After obtaining his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, he started his career teaching at Rice University. He then worked as a consultant and expert witness for many years, specializing in mechanical safety and failure analysis. In Jan. 2005 he started his own company, MECC Consulting www.mecconline.net. For fun, he takes art classes at the Glassell/Museum of Fine Arts School.

Beverly likes going to movies and taking trips with Joel, reading good mysteries, working in the garden, swimming with the dogs and spending time with friends and the grandchildren.
Holly enjoys herding the rest of the pack, especially Monty, by coming up behind him and giving him a push and shove with her shoulder, followed by a nip on his neck as she runs by and passes him. If she goes too long without exercise, she takes matters into her own paws by careening through the house, grabbing a toy on the run, doing a fast mid- air spin/turn and changing directions. These antics are so cute they usually induce whoever happens to be around to play with her. (Holly passed away on Aug 31, 06. See Holly. )
Monty was adopted from the Montgomery County Humane Society. He has tons of "ball drive," and apart from shadowing Beverly, his favorite thing in the world is retrieving! See Monty's Story
Our newest pack member is our Border Collie, Lock-Eye Five Star Trip! We are anticipating many happy times together.
